I used to have a bi-black sheltie. In the summer, if she was outside a lot, her coat would turn reddish and dry out. Don't know if this is what might be happening or not. Good luck.

I bought Buddy an inexpensive adjustable Martingale collar when he was about 6 months old. It still fits him fine, although I've definitely adjusted it to be larger. You can get them pretty cheap at PetCo or PetSmart. Then you can get her a new one that you really like when she's full grown...
