I second hugs...
I am just stunned that you can't get pain relief to take home!!!
When Laddie was sick I had signed up for hospice care called laps of love.
They provide in home evaluations, prescriptions for pain and other medications and euthanasia when the time comes.
I am not sure if you have that service where you are but it was worth its weight in gold for me. Although I had signed up originaly for Laddie with his cancer, I ended up using it for Mr Chance too.
The vet was the most compassionate woman I had ever met. It was the harderesr decision when I had to let Mr Chance go. He could no longer stand to get a drink of water or to get food. He was not eating. I was blessed to allow him to pass in my arms at home. The most compassionate send off for a beloved dog.
I certainly hope you can find a service that can meet Deska's needs now. I just don't understand your vetsnot allowing pain meds to be taken home under your circumstances.
Can you crate Tully or put her in another room at feeding time so she does not steal Deska's food?
I am so sorry you are not felling well. With all your worries with Deska I am not surprised it is taking a toll on you also.
Please try and take care of yourself! We are all pulling for you both!
