Colon Cancer

I hope all goes well. also those specialists charge arm and a leg. I hope they can confirm and find a treatment quickly. One test after another test really add up fast.

Becky, I know hard all of this is for you and your family. I lost a sheltie to cancer (lymphoma) in April. I am sure they will do the right thing for Dakota. Sending prayers and support. All toes and paws crossed here too.

A hug to you, your family, and Dakota.

Like so many of you, I've also dealt with cancer (melanoma) in one of my dogs. I agonized but opted for surgery and chemo for an 11 - year old labrador and got two quality years thereafter, for which I was extremely grateful. There were zero negative side effects from the chemo (carboplatin) in her case.

Ok...here is a little update. Dakota is still having test, xrays, and biopsys done...so we will not know 100% until 7:00 or tomm morning. First thing this morning they did a rectal exam and said worst case scenario Dakota had 4-6 months left :( We continued to pray and trust God and now we have new information. Dakota's cancer has not went to any other organs or into his bloodstream. He does a cyst in his prostate. The cyst is pressing up in the same place the cancer mass is...so it makes the mass appear larger. The specialist told us "down the road" we will have to get him neutered...but deal with the cancer first. The lymph nodes looked swollen in the bladder/stomach...but they feel that is because of the cyst. It seems like better news. All I can say is keep praying...because Jesus is always working. I will keep everyone updated.

Thank you for the update. Hopefully some good news will come and it will be treatable (ie. removable) and Dakota will be just fine. Prayers coming your way.

Thanks for the update and that is good that it has not spread, will look for a future update tomorrow. I am sure you are all worn out right now mentally and physically.
