Dakota went in today for his 3rd dose of chemo. They had put him on another med with the chemo. That med has made Dakota sick these past few weeks (lost appetite, fatigue, vomiting, sick tummy). We talked to the specialist today who had no doubt in her mind that it was that med making him sick. She took him off those pills for a week and changed it from every day to every other day. The specialist said these meds can even cause ulcers!!!!
They did the rectal exam to feel for the tumor. The specialist could not locate the tumor because Dakota is really really raw inside and started straining when they were trying to feel for the tumor. I feel that if they are doing the exam and can't find the tumor....maybe just maybe its gone?!? The specialist told us they did not feel the tumor because Dakota was raw (caused by those meds!!!!). We were also informed that when they gave Dakota his dose of chemo 3 wks ago....they are not 100% sure he took it all. Dakota had apparantly bit the capsule in half and some spilled out (not sure why they did not share this bit of info last time..but that o.k.). They did not want to overdose him last time so they left it alone.
Overall, they were still hopeful and feel that since the 1st dose of chemo worked it is still working...just could not locate/feel it today.
Dakota goes in Wed (taking him and True) to our regular vet. Dakota has to have blood/urine work...and True for her Rabies shot (4 months). Dakota is really worn out this afternoon and has not ate but one bite of his food. We are not pushing him to eat....because we know chemo can take its toll on someone...and the specialist verified today that those pills are making him very sick
!!! Please continue to pray for Dakota and our family. We are praying God will heal him!! We have mixed feelings  as to what is going on now...but know its in God's hands!! I want to personally thank each of you for your support and prayers!!!
