Dog Wheelchair

Gavin... the SUPER SHELTIE!
I swear Cindy if I lived closer to you, you would not be able to keep me from visiting you and Gavin!
He reminds me so much of Mr. Chance. He is so devoted to you as you are to him!
LOVE, LOVE LOVE, that last picture of him sleeping on you!

PRECIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to buy a knee brace. I found 1 place that offers returns (with a 20% re-stocking fee) and is cheaper at $250. Most are custom, require casting, and run $600-900 with no returns. Since Gavin has never been diagnosed with a torn CCL I don't know if they will help so that was a lot of money... But for loosing $50 if I need to return I can live with it. I had ordered a balto brace but changed my mind and cancelled.

Other cheaper braces are kinda like a sling with metal rods.. and no returns. They are $150-$400, and some require a vets diagnosis, which again I don't have.

They have a reputation for really good customer service, which some of the other places don't.

I think he has built up some leg muscle with the cart, which we will continue to use regardless. But the 30 day return window will give us a chance to see if the brace helps him at least use his bag leg more.

Heck, worth a shot with a 30-day return policy!

Gavin was snoozing on me last night while I was dremeling his nails :)
I don't really know if this will work, to be honest. If it does, I will regret not getting a brace sooner. Although I know the wheelchair helped him build up some muscle and it worked instantly.

golden gate park this morning. decided to take advantage of no rain and the day off.
we haven't been there since before Gavin got hurt, maybe august of 2017, but the dirt paths are plentiful and not much in the way of hills so good for the cart.

WOW, those new wheels were the best investment ever for that terrain! Go GAVIN! You can tell how much he is enjoying himself!

He seems to love the trails that are small and with tree roots. He took lots of he small ones that required some assistance to make corners and get over obstacles. Golden gate park is a good summer option as it is so much cooler, and I am glad the wheels makeit possible. My main hops for the brace is that it will facilitate beach outings, as the wheelchair doesn't work for Gavin's preferred activity of sitting in the shallows.

Good walk this morning..getting anxious as the the brace arrives Friday. Part of me if overly hopeful and part of me is afraid it wont help...

I see what you meant Cindy about Gavin getting distracted lol. If you didn't give a tug on the leash he'd head off the path to eat grass. He likes to meander and smell things.
I've got my fingers crossed that the brace works and helps him!
