Dog Wheelchair

You are lucky to have each other. All your posts reflect how you notice and care about every little detail concerning Gavin and his state of being. You guys have an amazing bond, Cindy.

A friend's SIL (who recently lost her dog) asked about Gavin as they have met.
When she was told he uses a wheelchair now, she said she would put a dog down before putting them in a wheelchair I was indignant.
Even though she probably think Gavin is in a wheelchair all the time and not just for the limited beach trips, it is upsetting.
You should see all the happy dogs in chairs on the facebook group I am in for dogs in wheelchairs.
For some people, it just doesn't occur to them that dogs are worth the inconvenience of disabilities. Dogs lives already revolve around us as it is.
I should mention, this person does not work and has no kids, so any inconvenience would not add stress to an already full and busy day.

It’s so easy for someone with no emotional tie to say they would put an animal down, but as pet mom’s and dad’s we all know we will do everything we can to keep our pets with us until it’s no longer possible.
Gavin is enjoying life and Cindy it’s because you care! I say well done!

people who don't work and don't have family responsibilities are the ones who are terribly inconvenienced by anything that disrupts their routine of nothing......................

So I have noticed that when he has a really active day (like beach or funston), he doesn't come visit me on my bed that night.
so no snuggles last night, but for a good cause

So looks like this is our weekly post! Gavin seems to LOVE the cooler weather. this morning he did not want to get back into his stroller! I had to pick him up and carry him 100 feet to get him in it to leave so I could get home and ready for work. I think I may need to change his sparkly toes, too. The soft paws have allowed his nails to really grow on his bad paw (they were so worn down from his toe touching). I might have to trim them , too.

Wow...Gavin MUST be loving the weather! I can just picture you carrying him, guess he wasn't ready to go home when you were lol. Isn't Gavin a good size? It would've killed me to carry Riley 100 feet (he was 38 pounds)! Piper is more my favourite size (20 pounds), nice and compact...Finnie is long and all legs and hates to be carried lol.
