Sheltie lost: Columbus, NJ. Need prayers.

Yeah..as I stated in my original post Rachie was taken by this guy who found her at the grocery store. We went on TV and posted massive flyers. He claimed he never watches the local news. We only got Rachie back after this guys son saw the flyer and told him a LARGE reward was being offered. This guy kept Rachie for 2 weeks and even gave her a new name. The first thing he asked when he called was how much was the reward,. I refused to tell him until I got Rachie back. He tried to charge me for a bath he supposedly gave her and the cheap food he fed her. I told him the reward was for that. I had 2000.00 I was willing to reward whomever found her, but after he told me how he had her for 2 weeks and he never checked to see if she was chipped because he claimed it would cost him or called the humane society to report a lost dog he found he got half of that
 
I missed your post thinking about this poor little sheltie. I am so sorry that happened to you also. When the person I know told me her story it just made me sick as it does for you. The pain of them being lost, but to have them taken and bringing them back with their hand out is outrageous.

I said to the gal I know, how in the world could she do that to you? Ya can't trust people.

Please Dear Lord above, Please send your angels to find and return Heidi back to her home. She is in need of her human Mom , and family. Please Dear Lord , I ask this in Jesus's name ! Amen

It really is sad to think how people can be. To this day when I drive past the street this guy lives on I get angry. We lost Rachie 3 months later, and as weird as it sounds, it pains me to think of those two weeks I could have had her close to me. THis greedy man will never know just what he did and how greedy and selfish he was to keep Rachie without even trying to find out if she was lost. He kept commenting on how well trained she was and wehat a sweetie she was. He knew she was special but until the reward came into play he had no intentions if seeing if someone was sitting heartbroken waiting for her. He did say that he thought no one would lose a dog like her if they truly cared about her. He went out a week after I took Rachie back and got his wife a puppy because she missed Rachie. Makes me wonder how that dog is now

I bet you do feel frustration when you pass that guy's house. OMG the thought of that is horrid. Now if either one of us would ever do that, which we sure wouldn't, we would be hung by our toenails. Just devastating!

Yes you sure would wonder what happened to that poor pup they bought. Maybe this entire board should go kidnap that pup.

Just been reading all the posts re Heidi,
My heart goes out to you and can't imagine what you must be going through
Please God and St. Francis help to find this little girl who desperatly wants to be back home with her family.

Sill Searching for Heidi

:(Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't written in awhile but I have been busy searching for Heidi. Just an update to let you know that my husband and I are still searching. We must have put up 350-400 posters and thousands of fliers in the surrounding areas. We have met alot of dog lovers, also heartbroken to hear our story. Many have joined in looking for her. We are now working with a local Animal Alliance group along with our Pet Dectective, and Sheltie Rescue volunteer. From what I hear " everyone knows about Heidi" "Everyone sees our poster/fliers" It has been the talk of the town. Everyone is telling me not to give up, there is hope. Everyone has been so supportive. There has been calls that we received that were "cruel" One call stated that they have my dog, then hung up, call restricted so we could not call back. Another was that he has sex with dogs. Now that call was really disturbing. All the shelters in South NJ have been notified, and we are working on notifing all the vets/groomers in the area of our quest. Now the local paper in that area is going to write an article about Heidi, and keep running it till we find her. Well I have to go now, just got a sighting and must go. Will keep everyone updated.
 
Thanks for the update. I think of Heidi everyday and pray that you find her soon. Heidi is very lucky to have such a dedicated owner. Keep the faith, you will find her.
 
Now just put the wackos out of your thoughts -- they don't matter and they aren't speaking truth. THink of all the people on the lookout for Heidi, and all of us praying that she will be found. This is the season of miracles -- and I'm expecting one!!!:yes:
 
Have faith. She will be found and don't pay any attention to those cruel and miserable people. Just focus on the positive just like Chris said. There are a lot of people praying for her safe return.
