ALERT - Senior Sheltie Riley in Michigan needs a home!

I just got off the phone with Michele at the shelter about Riley

She said he came from a neglect case and has horrible teeth that they pulled a few! I told her how much I love Michigan sheltie rescue and have adopted many from her! I told her I would be more than willing to pick up the $100 adoption fee so Carol can take him and I would then pay for his dental needs! She said to have her reach back out to them!

I explained to her that Shelties are such a sensitive breed that do not do well in shelter environments! So, she seemed open to Carol reaching out again if they can not place him!
 
WOW Gloria. I am just in awe of your compassion and pro-active stance. Totally agree with all my heart that this senior boy would do much better with a knowledgeable Sheltie rescue especially if he was neglected. Bless that shelter person for being open to persuasion. You have all my respect. :hugs Please let us know what happens and bless Carol too for being willing to take Riley.

Gloria, I would like to chip in on that adoption fee/dental work.

I can’t take all the credit! Trini offered to help financially to get him out of the shelter! She gave me the idea to reach out! I really believe that Michele understood where I was coming from! If he can have his medical needs met why not release him!
Remy’s mom even offered to help foster him! I reached out to Carol and hope I hear back soon. Will update as I get more news!

Oh, wow!!! Don't know how you got thru, but a big "Thank You". Please give me Michele's number and I will try again on Monday.

Gloria, if I can get Riley, I'll pay their adoption fees and for ANY medical he needs. Before we do any type of surgery, we also do a complete blood panel, heartworm test, etc.

She wants to pick him up on Monday before our snow storm on Wednesday/Thursday.

Fingers crossed and prayers that they will allow him to leave. He came in as a neglect case with a Pekingese and Lab. I told Carol we want to contribute to his medical bills.

Hope to receive positive news on Monday. With all the love for Riley, I feel in my heart that they will let Carol rescue him.
