Chronic tummy problems

I am just holding my breath. You are doing the best you can under these incredibly trying times! Deska is rudely blessed to have such a loving and caring mom! Stay strong! Praying that Deska gains strength.

Every day at least twice a day I'm checking to see how Deska is doing Caro and I'm praying that he can make it and that you get to spend a little more time with him. It breaks my heart and brings tears to my eyes reading of all the problems he's having!

Thinking of you and Deska with many prayers for a good outcome!

You know, when I touch Deska I can feel my heart rate dropping and a calmness coming over me. Last night when I got home, even though he had more surgery, I felt better, I felt I could cope. But now it's the morning and the over-whelming grief and heartache has taken over. I don't know how I'll cope. It is so hard being alone. Deska was my whole life. I know I have Tully and I love her dearly, but Deska was a whole other being. I know Deska and I have attachment issues - we can't be out of each other's sight for long. I waited so long to have him back, and now I'm losing him.

The biopsy results come back today. I think there's not much left. If he doesn't recover now then no more, I wish someone could come with me though.

Oh Caro I so feel for you! I can't imagine how your coping as I'd be a total wreck if anything happened to Piper...he's my heart and I too would do all I could for him.
I guess you have to trust your heart when you have to make the decision when you've done all you can.

Caro, my heart breaks for you and your precious Deska. I know what it means to be facing the possible loss of a deeply bonded heart dog...it is beyond devastating. Sending much love and hugs. Trini

OMG late to this thread - Caro, I would definitely go with you, as would many here. I am shedding tears as I type. When our heart dogs are struggling it is just a physical blow. I am so very sorry to only be able to offer long distance comfort. I hope the surgery bought you a bit more time with your precious boy. All fingers crossed here for you both.:hugs Just don't beat yourself up or second guess past decisions - we all do the best we can in the moment and only hindsight is perfect....

He is refusing to eat. He wouldn't even eat for me. They've been taking him to the toilet but he hasn't been going but he did poop and pee for me, and he tried to make a break for it running off to the roadside. I know some behaviour is because he misses me so much and he doesn't want to be there.

The specialist wants me to wait and see if it improves from the surgery. I'm not sure how long. Not eating is a big thing for Mr D.
