Cindy I'm very sorry to hear this, you must be torn between helping Gavin and your mom, with not much rest for yourself. I hope he perks up for you. I'm sure every such event must just squeeze your heart. We are all pulling for you and Gavin.
I am so sorry Gaving is having a tough time. Hopefully he gets passed this quickly and can get back to enjoying Grandma's yard. What are the temps like there now?
It's 30s/40s.
He seems better this afternoon. he is able to stand on his own, although help getting up is still appreciated. He had a diarrhea moment, so cleanup was of course fun
It just really pushes the stress into the stratosphere. I don't want to leave him alone in case he needs me (he'll try and get up and get frustrated when he can't quite do it).
Sending good thoughts that Gavin improves, Cindy. I know how hard it is trying to stay on top of the issues that pop up for our seniors, and it must be really difficult for both of you not being home, as much as he's enjoyed his stay. Praying you see him perk up soon after some rest.
well, he drank water at 4AM. slept some more. pee'd at 9AM. he crawled back into his bed on his own. ate some yogurt coated kibble. still sleeping.
just supportive care. course, I am not sleeping well. he wakes me up when he tosses and turns when he can't get up on his own. usually a few times a night.
he seems a bit better. able to get himself up most of the time. can't always walk very far before collapsing. his front end is too weak for his wheelchair (I tried), btu he was able to poop on his own. hopefully he will continue to improve.
That's great, Cindy. Progress....any little thing is progress! When do you leave for home? I wonder if he'll be better once he's there. Sending pats to your boy, and hugs to you.
