Gavin's radiation treatment

Yes, happy puppy is not a very snuggly puppy :(
As soon as I stop petting him he moves to leave, no more sleeping on top of Mommy.

Gavin is back to normal behavior. We had our full normal walk last night, no issues. His leg is still naked, I wonder when the hair will start growing back in though.

His check up is Friday, so hopefully with an all clear we can try the beach this weekend if it isn't raining.

It sounds so wonderful and think how fast it went from bad to good.

I cross fingers for everything is fine on Friday :fl

So everything is all good.
vet was very happy with gavin (go figure..who doesn't love my pup!)
He said 2-3 months for hair to grow back.
and I need sunscreen for his naked leg. all he said was no zinc oxide, so I guess most of my sunscreens are OK since they don't use that

Such great news, Cindy! I'm south of you and we've (supposedly) got a big storm coming on Sunday. Hopefully you guys will catch a break from the rain and make it to the beach.

So we had goreous weather at the beach :)
Gavin got into some trouble with a rotting seal..I had to bathe him 4X to get rid of the smell! Very much not like him. We weren't there very long, I didn't want to overdo things. His leg got a bit red, too. I think his skin just isn't used to any rough stuff. He was tripoding it a bit when I got him home, so I think he needs some rest.

OMG... It looks like heaven for both of you and so well deserved..
Aside of the seal part!:ick

I bet the salt air will help the healing process too!

we live about 30 minutes from the beach (half moon bay is where we go). This is the first good weekend in a while as we have had rains this year. Gavin is still tripoding it a bit, on and off. I will have to re-evaluate next weekend; we had a relatively short beach visit this time and not sure I can cut it back more.

I think that while Gavin loves the beach, the real attraction is being off leash in a large area with other dogs and people where he can play :) Dog parks have there own issues; we have never met a 'bad' dog at the beach.

:smile2:
