are you going to the Auburn vets? I seem to remember that they have a branch in the Baldwin area.....
Last spring I had to take Cran to Auburn to the vet school there- got our appt and back with meds before the shutdown started. we were lucky that we were able to get in so quickly as we might not have been able to go if it was even a week later.

That is a big plus that you are getting in so soon to see the specialist. So many places now have a wait of literally months to even get an appointment with a vet specialist. Prayers from here for a good treatment plan for Scout.

Fantastic that you're getting in so soon! Our vets and specialists here also have long wait times, even for routine appointments. Sending positive thoughts for Scout!

There is an Auburn Extension here, but I don’t think it is fully staffed yet. The ortho vet we are seeing in Pensacola comes highly recommended. He is cum laude Auburn University 1982, chief of surgery, Professor Emeritus in 2015, authored 53 publications, chaired committees for American College of Veterinary Surgeons Symposium, etc. Procedures include Stem Cell and PRR therapy, TPLO, FHO, and tons more. The list goes on and on. He also had faculty appointments at UAB and MSC of Veterinary Medicine.
So we shall see what he recommends.

So cute. Scout has a ton of hair already for an 8 month old. He looks snuggly. Sounds like you are in good hands with your ortho choice, hopefully he can ease your mind a bit.

The anti-inflammatory makes him act like a normal puppy. I can tell he is pain free because he begs to go outside to play fetch. He trots around and is a happy puppy. But when I try to walk him on the sidewalk he does not want to walk. I guess the grass is easier for him to walk on. But I know the meds are only a temporary solution.
