As for animals and people in their senior years... mental and physical stimulation keeps the body and mind young! Gavin is proving that is spades!

How much is too much? We walked 5 straight days in the morning. This morning was raining. It looks like tonite will be OK and MAYBE tomorrow morning (that is likely to change though).
Gavin is not a fan of walks in the dark like he is the morning..should I try and get him out anyway? It would not be one of his fun walks either, but a walk around the block more or less..

So today I decided to take Gavin to the local dog walk area with an off leash area. Now the off leash area is up a hill. It is too steep for Gavin in his wheels. So I decided to use my collapsible cart and pull him up the hill. with his wheelchair on the back. So like 50-60 lbs of dog stuff to lug. Not doing that anytime soon! Once we got to the area with the grass, Gavin was roaming for about 10-15 minutes tops as the area is still a bit hilly.

I have to admit that while being off leash looks all nice and freeing, Gavin will mostly just eat grass if I leave him be. Not very thrilling. Although he loves the fact that lots of other dogs are there to greet, so we will keep going (without the cart bit).
